I have been slacking ....
I bought a pair of wheels from Classic 87. I then bought a pair of 18x10 rear wheels and picked up a rear tire to test fit with . I pulled the truck out this evening and bolted the wheels on . The slacking part is that I have spindles and rear springs to lower it 2.5 front and 4 in the rear . I need to get this done . Here are a couple pics for now . Frank

Re: I have been slacking ....
At this time I only plan on using the spindles (2.5") and rear springs (4") . I will see how that looks . I also have a pair of 1" drop coils and a hanger/shackle kit from an old project that i can mix and match to make it work . I liked TVBlazers 275/60/17's and the way a larger sidewall looks so I ordered the 275/60/18's for the rear . I am always a little scatterbrained so who knows where this will go . I just need to get it done . Frank

Re: I have been slacking ....
It is still for sale but just not advertised . That makes it a little hard to sell . My wife wants it gone and expects it to be listed on ebay once more . If I sold this one , I would put this equipment on the 77 long bed . I put these on this one tonight to see how they looked and liked it . Like I said , I am scatterbrained with several trucks at the house . I am narrowing down the field though . I had one parts truck hauled off , one is on the trailer right now , the 87 3/4 ton went to a new home Sunday , and the 89 Suburban will be stripped soon and the carcas hauled away . That will leave the tan 78 , the blue 77 longbed , the blue 77 shortbed 454 truck , and parts of my original 77 shortbed I had in highschool . I think the 77 454 truck should be left stock . That leaves the tan or blue truck to tinker with . If I sold the tan one , the blue 77 long bed would be the subject of the lowering and wheels . Frank

Re: I have been slacking ....
Ken, I would love to keep them all but I need to find more room . I am so addicted that I tried to buy an off orange/white long bed on ebay recently . I wanted it but I think it was more than I wanted to spend . I might call and make another offer on it . I love shortbeds but the long beds appeal to me also . Frank

Re: I have been slacking ....
Yes Sir he did . He has been on me about that truck since I bought it . He used to have a brown 86 1/2 ton in as nice condition and drove it for years . He sold it after my mom died in 2002 and I think this truck reminds him of that one . He called last night and said he had the windows tinted lightly , chassis lubed and oil changed , A/C needed a shot of R-12 because it cycled a little so he had that done . He said that Wednesday alone he had 4 or 5 people comment on the truck or ask if it was for sale . The oil change guy told him that the truck was one of the cleanest and driest underneath that he had ever seen . I have been under that truck and can say that it was extremely dry underneath . Frank

Re: I have been slacking ....
The truck has just been sitting in the garage getting covered in dust . It sat so long the battery was down when I tried to crank it yesterday . I honestly dont remember the last time I drove it . The tags and inspection are way out . My drop components have the same amount of dust on them . I am going to try to get something done . We have a local car show coming up in a couple months I think I would like to drive it to . Frank

Re: I have been slacking ....
wow,if that photochop doesn't inspire you to the lowered ranks nothing will. i'd be droppin that thing in a heartbeat........but...you gotta do,what you gotta do.i'd like to see you keep it and drop it......that truck would cause some "rubber neckin" out on the road.
look's great good luck with the drop.

Re: I have been slacking ....
The fronts are 18x8 with 4.5" backspace and the rears are 18x10 with 5.25" backspace . They are centered in the rear wheeltubs . 5" backspace would have been good on the rear but I figured that if I ever install rear disc brakes , the rotors will probably set the wheels out 1/4" . Frank
