4x4 dually front axle question
im looking at converting my wrecker to 4x4, so i have a couple questions about dually 4x4s...
#1 did any dually 4x4s come with a cheapy axle? im not looking to 4-wheel this thing or put huge tires in it, so a dana 44 or corp axle would be fine for some extra pulling power going through the feild as long as i could put dually wheels on it #2 did ford make any dually 4x4s with leaf sprung straight axles? i hate like heck to put a ford axle in my truck, but at the same time my PTO output is on the passanger side, so it would be much easier to put a drivers side front driveshaft in to not have to modify any of the wrecker parts thanks in advance! Re: 4x4 dually front axle question
The 4WD IFS dually trucks use a big spacer to run the Budd wheels on the normal IFS front. I think you could use these spacers with any GM 44 or 10 bolt to do what you want.

Re: 4x4 dually front axle question
My buddy with the C30 converted to K30 is using a standard 3/4 ton Dana 44 with spacers to fit his dually front rims. He has had zero problems with the spacers. IIRC, he said the spacers were kinda expensive but he would have bought those probably 15 years ago I'm guessing.
