compressor mounting

My two Viair compressors will be mounted on my frame which is 2x4x3/16 wall steel tubing. Do you think the compressors will stay put if I drill and tap holes in the 3/16 wall steel? I would be using the mounting brackets that come with the compressors? Just because I've read how these things vibrate, I'm not sure if I should come up with a beefier mounting solution. I would feel better if I could get a nut and bolt on them, but with the 2x4 tubing, I would have to drill an access hole to get at a nut.

Any thoughts?

thats what i was thinking about doing but i was also unsure about them coming loose so i just made some plates and welded them to inside of the framerails. not a bad idea but takes about about an inch and a half more of bed. i could have dropped them but its set up for 22s and i didnt want them to get in the way...

I don't think just tapping the 2x4 steel is a good idea. There isn't much thread there to grab the bolt. You could mock up the compressors and then weld some nuts on the 2x4 so when the compressors mount they sit on the welded nuts. That way you get a good bite. There is tons of other ideas so try and get creative.

I drilled the tube, tapped it, screwed in some threaded rod, then zapped it with the welder. I then slid some rubber bushings over that... which was enough to cover the bead and let the compressors sit flush.
