Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
Not sure if this has been done before, but should be fun, none the less. This is the dash pad I removed from my "87 V30 last week. Post your 73-87 Dash Pad nightmare Pictures and let's compare. Thanks......Jay

Re: Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
I don't have a pic of the dash without the cover, but it's pretty bad...as you can see, I need to put a lot of work on the whole interior...

Well you have me beat babyJay,but my '80 and I'll play too.I've been wondering what the options for repair are?I've heard the covers are less than great.

MAN!!! That's rough! I'm not sure how to properly fix 'em without replacing as a whole.

Re: Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
fiberglass it, buy another(if you're felling lucky), or have it repadded and stitched up un vinyl. the last upholstered one i had cost about 250 and the fiberglassing is taking forever, so i probably won't try that again.

When you say "whole", you mean the "whole" truck right?

Re: Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
Absolutely, in that case...
That leather idea doesn't sound too bad. I pondered experimenting with that blue one, but decided I have enough crap in my garage already...

Re: Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
That's what eventually happened I had it stashed back there because I was planning to rob the rotors and calipers for the van I replaced it with, that never happened, but last fall I picked up a '76 K10 and there are a *lot* of fiddly-bits that old hulk once had that I had to scrounge up somewhere else The only salvageable part I've managed to use off the thing was a spring-steel jesus-clip for the carb linkage Once I've got a hitch on the '76 that old crock will get 'smoke wrenched' into winchable pieces and scrapped for gas money |

Re: Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
ya know...its pretty sad. even a burnt up truck has a better dash pad than my 4x4, but maybe thats cause there isn't one in it....how ever i do have to say that i am still amazed that the dash pad in '84 shortbox is still in brandnew shape!

Re: Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
sweet lurch be very glad about that. I have the same problem except that I have one of those dash covers that is that hard plastic. I hate it. It comes off all the time and I have to put it back on. My friends would sometimes pull it off and throw it out of my truck and I would have to go pick it up and put it back in.

Re: Worst Dash Pad ever Pics
Not worst ever and certainly not as bad as some posted, but I was happy to make the change.
