Drug home a 77 GMC Sierra 3/4 ton today, fully loaded. Has a 454 and a TH400. Paid $700 for it, only needs a brake line to be a driver. 54k original miles, has the original poly tires on 3 of the 4 wheels, with an original poly spare under the bed. Not too sure if i'm going to fix it or scrap the truck and take the motor and tranny. I have a line on a 78 GMC 3/4 crewcab for $750 from the same guy with a good 454.

Already have the whole front clip, door shells and bedsides on the way. Running to the junkyard this weekend to hustle up a 1/2 ton suspension.

Re: Joined the 73-87 crowd
That truck would look great if you fixed it up don't scrap it.
I'd take it if you wanted to get rid of it but my parents wont let me have anymore cars.

Wow, those 54k must have been some hard miles. Nice find though.

Re: Joined the 73-87 crowd
If you disturb one brake line you'd better plan on replacing a bunch of them. Advanced Auto has all the adapter fittings etc, some of these don't have standard fittings on common "off the shelf" lines. Good luck!

Re: Joined the 73-87 crowd
These darn trucks are just made to rust ---- 54k, but left outside for 30 years in NE Kansas,
But on the flipside -- you got a big block for less than a grand (plus a whole bunch of other stuff)-- good score
