Talking Wiper Motor Replacement

saw this on another forum, too good not to share:

A replacement for the 60-66 truck wiper motor that " the two speed, self-parking motor, bolts directly to the stock brackets and even connects to the stock linkage. The Clean Wipe features intermittent delay function, and includes a wiring harness and a replacement switch which will work with the original switch knob. Three year guarantee."

The only thing I'm wondering about is if the factory windshield washer will hook up and if the switch will work with the factory knob with the washer function.

Hot Rod listed the price at $220, Newport Engineering's web site stated to Call for Price.

Hmn... Interesting.

I received this email from Newport customer service today:

Hi Woogeroo, we have a shaft extension adapter that will allow you to use
your stock knob and bezel.

We have a two speed switch, a delay switch
and a two speed washer switch. We got you guys covered!!!!!!

Just give us a call.

---- end email ----

Just sharing the information...

Thanks Woogeroo, I just took mine out and was wondering if there was a newer version. I bookmarked the page.

Re: Wiper Motor Replacement

Hiya folks...

I was searching around for some other old truck information and I came across this install article using the new port products on a '66 Chevy truck.

1966 Chevrolet short bed Fleetside - Wiper Upgrade

'60-66 C-10
From the February, 2009 issue of Custom Classic Trucks
By John Gilbert

Good stuff, if nothing else some of the pictures on how to take stuff apart is pretty useful.

So, go save the pics while they are still up.

Re: Wiper Motor Replacement

i have a question, other than adding the delay, what makes this wiper motor better than my original 2-speed wipers, is it any faster?

As far as the wiper motor, I don't know. I think it is just an option people use when they do crazy customs, or they do not have the original stuff, etc..

I think the delay part is in the switch...
