Re: Have my work cut out for me
Note, I had to replace that piece of rear floor in mine too [in green]. I ended up having to make a piece. No biggie really just a flat chunk with a couple of flats bent into it.

Re: Have my work cut out for me
Thats to funny bigsky71 for a second I actually thought it was my truck, what are the chances. That piece your talking about I have to make my own as well that corner was really bad, like you said though no big deal. Progress looks good on your truck keep it up. There will be more pics to come for awhile there doesn't seem to be many posts on body work, with pics and I know there are a lot of other members out there attempting the same project so I hope this thread can be of help to others as well.

Re: Have my work cut out for me
My mistake Bigsky71 I didn't realize you have finished your truck. I saw your build link with all the pictures, WOW! looks awsome keeps me motivated, I hope mine turns out as good as that. I noticed the front clip you have in one of the pics funny enough I bought a 68 front clip and it it very similar in color to.

Re: Have my work cut out for me
Yea, I got part way into my build and decided, like many others, that I had to have the early clip. It just so happened that an old friend of mine had one that he needed to turn into cash, so I lucked out. I found my short bed and my front clip within 2 miles of my house so I was very happy.
My 68 clip came with a new cowl hood too but being a purist [yea right] I decided I liked the stock hood better. If you do the whole truck with the same attention to detail as the cab fix, your truck will turn out awesome! My truck is 90% done but still working on some details like lowering the seat, getting a 700R4 and some other stuff too... |

Re: Have my work cut out for me
I'm a big fan of the early front clip, and cowls well like yourself not really into them either. I haven't lucked out yet with a box mine was really K.O.'d unfortunately my truck isn't a shorty, it's longbox, nothing against longbox though. I've really been paying attention to details, all the doors gaps, etc. I've kept my patience this far so I hope it turns out ok.
