Front axle swap, what bolts in?????
Ok I have a complete pull out drive train, motor tranny and t-case out of an 04 chevy 2500 I am working on putting into my 70 k5 blazer. So i am looking at putting a ford front axel in since it has the drivers side pinion and I will be converting to crossover steering.
Will a dana 50 or 60 from a 97 ford f-350 bolt in or will i have to do some mods to get it in their??? Or what does bolt right in, and remember it has to have the pinion on the drivers side? Any other Ideas?? |

Re: Front axle swap, what bolts in?????
i don't know of anything that will bolt in with no mods but as far as i know a f-350 is a fairly easy swap, my neighbor bolted an early f-350 axle under his suburban frame which is under a jeep cherokee body. he's using a driver side drop 205 t-case from a ford.

Re: Front axle swap, what bolts in?????
Your best bet is a '70's ford front axle, because starting in the 80's they changed the frame to be wider and you'd have to re-mount your leaf springs out wider to do this. A 70's leaf sprung front axle should bolt right in.
