Some paint.....finally!

I finally got some paint on the Blazer. It is medium olive green or as close as they could match it, base coat/ clear coat combo and slick as snot! I will be taking it home soon and putting the engine back in. The fun is about to begin, enjoy the pics!

Re: Some paint.....finally!

Is the inside getting the same color. I'm not a body man so is there an advantage to masking off the inside before spraying if it's going to be the same color? (hoping to get mine painted someday).

Re: Some paint.....finally!

bouncy,
I know the guy who's painting the truck has years of experience of painting some very beautiful vehicles, but I'm with you though. Is there an advantage of painting the exterior first and then the interior?

I know my big brother is going with the same color interior as the exterior but with saddle interior. I don't believe GM ever produced this color combo, but man, those two colors look so good together!!!

Re: Some paint.....finally!

Actually I am in Hawaii right now and will be getting back next Saturday so I will give you the paint details and numbers later. As for the interior, it is done. It was painted first along with the dash and firewall. He then masked the painted areas and painted the fenders. I was hoping to have the tub unmasked for the pics before I left but I did not. I will get more pics out to you all next week. I am taking the blazer home before the fenders go on and then I will put the engine and transmission in and then the front end. That's the plan anyway, and thanks for the great words!

Color looks great! Sorry to hear about all the dirt and hair in the paint though.

As for painting the interior first or after the exterior goes I like to do it first so you do not run the risk of overspray on the exterior. But the reason for two seperate sprays is normally because it is so hard to paint somthing that big on the interior and nor run the hose over a door jamb or bed rail so if you do it seperate with dry time in between it is alot less stress. Just my .02
