Front Suspension Swap?

I am changing my 68 over to disc brakes on the front. I just aquired the entire front end out of a 85 burb, everything from crossmember out to tires including the powerstering box, pump and prop valve. I am wondering is this a direct bolt in aside from drilling some holes. I am wanting to replace everything from my 68 front end with the 85 burbs including the crossmember and engine mounts. I found this thread but it didn't have a direct answer to this question. I'm sure this question has been aswered before but I can't find it on a search.

Happy fourth

Re: Front Suspension Swap?

You may have a slight clearance issue with the power steering box hitting the frame, but that may have just been mine

Re: Front Suspension Swap?

Thanks I was hoping it would be a simple swap. I'm keeping my eyes open for a 5 lug 12 bolt with a posi in it. I'm going to be running steelies with moon caps so I can wait until I find a really good deal on an axle. I seen on some post guys are just re-drilling thier rear axles lug pattern what does this require?

Does anyone know who makes a complete poly bushing kit for the 85 burb front end. Are my rotors going to be 1" or 1.5"

Azfab are you really having to pay $500 for axles? the local scrap yard will sell me 5 lug 12 bolt axles for $50 each.

Thanks

Since it came from a Burb they will "probably" be 1 1/4". Measure the rotor thickness to be sure.

Check with Chris at http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com for the part you need.
