I want to go Lower

I have a '98 ext cab that I drive everyday. I put drop spindles and a shackel/hanger kit on the rear. I would like to drop the rear about 2-3 more inches and the front about 1-2 more. I am running a 245/40-20 in front and a 275/45-20 in the rear. Both on 8.5" wide rims. The fronts don't have enough backspace for me, but I can live with it at this time since I can't afford new wheels. I will most likely change the front tires to a 245/45-20 so that I can get a little more sidewall.

What do you think are my best (and least expensive) options. I do not have the original hangers anymore.

What do all yall think?

Re: I want to go Lower

pull the shackle/hanger kit and go with a flip kit. that should get the rear where you want it.If not add the shackle kit back in. Then add a drop coil or trim the coils you have now for the front. half a coil = 1" IIRC. Be careful in this day and age of bagged and bodydropped trucks it is very easy to get the full blown low bug.

Re: I want to go Lower

Put a flip kit on the rear, then install a small air bag to adjust it for loads. Here's my 97 SWB CC with that set up.

Re: I want to go Lower

Thanks for the input guys. Since this is my DD, I do not want to bag it, you know, extra cost and extra stuff to go wrong.

For the flip kit, I would have to get new front factory hangers. Other then a junk yard, where can I get those?

List your current set-up on Craigslist & swap for stock parts.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
