Step-sides are @ a slight disadvantage vs. fleets in the rear wheel-well area. Backspacing is specific to each truck so one combination (@ one ride height) may not work on another.
The cool thing about step-sides is they are EASY to mini tub for extra capacity if required. It's best to mount some wheels @ ride height & take measurements from there to determine the exact BS you need. The 17x8 & 9.5 combo should work well & will look nice w/the right size tires.
