Marv D
I finally got to watch your episode last night . You did a good job ! Thats a cool truck too . That one round when you ran the Orange truck I was thinking (what are the odds of this?) We were laughing when you were patting the dash also . Everyone also thought it was cool about the age of the drivers . Just goes to show you never get to old for this stuff . Anyway just wanted to say congrats ! Now can you loan me some money ?

One good thing about BOTH"Pass Time" and "Pinks: is that they are in reruns ...... forever..... I got it recorded so if you'd like to come up here to watch it the "door is always open" and the beer on TAP is always COLD.

Man, I'm so out of it! I don't have cable, basically, because I don't watch TV! Guess I'll have to wait till it gets posted on youtube or something. Sounds like you had fun and that's what it's all about!
Very cool!!

Re: Marv D
Thanks Regan. Coming from a guy with a Wally on his shelf that is a real compliment
Ya know it's funny. At 55 ( I started getting grey hair in high school so don't let that fool ya) I've had more 0.00x lights in this truck with NO electronics, running in a full sportsman tree class than I have in my Nova with Mr Dedenbear doing the launch duties. It's hard to slow down, but I'm about one more major frustration from dumping the 9 second Chevy II, yanking this truck back off the street and racing the truck in "Sportsman" on the DOT's . I've won more races and more money in the truck than I ever have in the Nova at 9.teens and 145mph. Why am I fighting this faster faster faster thing!!!! If I wasn't such a hard head and would give in and build a big block,, things maybe wouldn't be so hard. But what can I say...... small blocks is all I know. And speaking of money,,,, did I fail to mention I'm married. You don't seriously think I walked out of there with money in "MY" pocket do you??? LOL

Re: Marv D
Joey, I can tell you right now that your truck can go as fast as your budget allows,, big block or small block, it really doesn't matter. It's just a matter of how much your willing to dump into it. That is not just $'s but effort too. I refuse to total up what I spent building this last small block for my Nova, but I can tell you I spent more on the HEADS than I spent on the first two nitrous motors I put in the truck. These days cubic dollars will take you just as quick as cubic inches, IF your willing to make the effort and investiment.

Re: Marv D
9.12 @ 146 in 1800' air last February, 2825 pounds w/ driver in race trim,, justa normally aspirated little ol small block, no turbo, no blower, no nitrous, no joke Motor made 800HP on a very conservative dyno,, OK OK I lied, 797.6 and couldn't find that lousy 2.4HP to save our @$$ so sue me LOL I'm still gonna call it 800
Best advice I can give for an all out effort is FORGET everything you have heard about how most people do it, and search out guys on the internet, and around your home track that are doiing the unusual and not breaking. I mean look at Regan. Off the stop that truck is probably capable of 8's, And a S/ST vehicle has to be SERIOUSLY reliable and consistant to make it into the show these days, Same goes for Kevin, NXtruck, Super73, and all the other quick guys here. There are a LOt of them. My engines all start with a set of heads, Heads are where the power is made. Pick a head capable of supporting the HP level your seeking,,, then wrap a motor around them that will tolerate the stresses of that HP level. Pretty simple eh!
