Transmission Mount.. Autozone part?

Doing some transmission stuff, decided to replace the worn out transmission mount on my 87 2wd with a 700r4. I went to autozone and they sold me a part number 2513 mount. I went to install it, it's taller than the old one, and mounting holes don't line up. They were correct with the part, since on their website, there is only one mount available for a 2wd auto chevy. Should I try another parts store or am I just crazy?

Re: Transmission Mount.. Autozone part?

I think I found a glitch in their system. Mine is an 87 and the only automatic mount available is the 2513. I look up an 86 c10, and there is now a 2392 which states for a 700r4 or th350. The 2513 is only for a th400. Wierd how their system only states the 87 having a th400 mount. Checked out Advance Auto Parts website and they have the same glitch. Very Wierd

Re: Transmission Mount.. Autozone part?

When I replaced mine, all of the local parts stores had the same (wrong) one listed. I eventually had to just match it up visually.

Call jegs or summit and they will at least give you the right part #

Re: Transmission Mount.. Autozone part?

I recommend an aftermarket polyurethane mount, just because they are less prone to breaking but they also have an internal safety catch which keeps the transmission in place, even if the rubber part of the mount is broken. I just purchased an Energy Suspension brand mount for $20 from Summit.
