Emblem restoration

Like a number of folks on this board, I have been collecting truck emblems for years. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on the best way to repaint the emblems to make them look better. I live out west, and we do not have a lot of trouble with pitting in chrome, but the sun destroys paint and such. So, I have got a number of emblems I would like to repaint. I have trouble matching the color because they are all faded. Does anyone know if the yellow used on many of the 1970's era emblems is the same for most years? The red seems to be more orange than red, but I don't know if that is just because it is faded. And of course all the colors seem to be flat rather shiney. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am including a picture of the type of emblems I want to paint.

Re: Emblem restoration

I did mine right on the truck, cleaned then up as good as I could then painted them. They are not perfect but look 90% better.
