Quadrajet question. NEED answer asap....
Anyone know the size of the fuel line nut that goes into the side of the carburetor???? Im thinking its 1/2 or 3/8.
Im doing a fuel line from my mechanical pump to the carb, and i dont know the size on the carb. Carb is not here and just want to get this stuff here so i can just bolt the carb on and attach lines when it shows up.... |

Re: Quadrajet question. NEED answer asap....
the fuel line is 3/8 yet the retaining nut is 5/8 . the filter housing takes a 1 inch wrench , be sure to hold it solid when you loosen the fuel line to avoid twisting the line and its best to have a 5/8 flare or line wrench not to round it off , then its vise grip time . lol

Re: Quadrajet question. NEED answer asap....
Unless you're in a hurry, I might suggest waiting until you have the carb in hand and do the flairing and fitting then.
However, if you do have a need to do it now, I have a 1977 quadrajet in my garage with the filter and fuel inlet fitting in it. The inside diameter of the female opening where the line from the fuel pump would attach is 1/2 inch. My assumption is that all quadrajets are the same size, but I may be wrong. You could get an adapter if you make one and it doesn't match. Sorry... that's wrong. The 1/2" inside diameter is for the male fitting that goes into the female filter retainer on the side of the carb... Mine just had a short male plug in it. Oh when you get to that filter, Your going to want to remove it along with the spring and throw it into your neighbors back yard. get a inline fuel filter.
