Factory Service Manuals
I own a Jeep and with it I picked up a Factory Service Manual that pretty much covers everything I'll realistically need to do.
Now I've been searching for one for my 65 Chevy C10 simply because I think it will get annoying to everybody if I have to constantly ask them torque specs/procedures on things like whats the torque requirements on the nut holding on my front drum and bearing. Anyways I found a listing for: Factory Assembly Manual Truck shop manual supplemental Is there a book out there that is better than Haynes and Chilton that can walk you through the various things like doing brake jobs, clutch replacement? Heres what my FSM looks like for my Jeep Wrangler. Last edited by kizer; 08-29-2008 at 02:48 PM. |

Re: Factory Service Manuals
Look up a company called Faxon Auto Literature. I bought mine from them. Since you have a 65 yoiu will need to buy the 63 shop manual (about 3 inches thick) and then buy a 65 Shop Manual Supplement and reference between the two of them. The supplement will only cover changed made between 65 and 63 - Hope this helps - Kurt

Re: Factory Service Manuals
That makes total sense. I kept seeing the supplement and couldn't figure out what it was supplementing from. Sure it addresses the 65 changes, but wheres the meat and potatoes of the manual and you answered it for me.
Now I'll just look for the 63' like you mentioned. Looks like I'll pick this up soon. http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/p...17%26yr%3D1965 Last edited by kizer; 08-29-2008 at 06:36 PM. |

Re: Factory Service Manuals
I have the CD manual for my 69. THe nice part about it is I can print what I need and take it to the shop without having to worry about fingerprints.
I also have the reprints of the manuals for all of my trucks. I can usually find things faster in them than the CD. You can get the paper manuals from the parts vendors.

Re: Factory Service Manuals
Check out Ebay. I've got several manuals from there. Just a thought.
