master cylinder sprays fluid without cap on?
i was trying to bleed the brakes out on my 87 1 ton, i had the cap off the master cylinder and when i hit the brakes it sprays fluid like 5 feet in the air of brake fluid out of the rear resivoir. any idea what that is? do i have a bad master? thanks!

Just loosen the cap and watch the level
they can spray and make a mess |

Don't 'hit' the brakes, just push the pedal s-l-o-w-l-y. If you are pumping fast then any air in the line will turn to foam making it even that much harder to get out.

yea probably cuz you pushed down the brake pedal too fast while you were bleeding it but yea like everyone else was saying its normal just to push the brake pedal slow. I just had to go through that when i put my new master cylinder in.
