Re: Mucho leaf springs
Sounds like you got a Heavy Half or Big 10 truck with longer 3/4 ton springs. These are actually the best for lowering, since you can use drop shackles without cutting the bed support because the spring hanger is further back and away from the bed support. They also provided a real smooth ride if you remove a leaf or two.

Re: Mucho leaf springs
my truck used to be a 80 big 10 long bed, I had at least six leafs on my truck, which it rode like a wagon on rocky road, because the guy that had the truck before I did, tried to lower it, so he put the over load spring on top of the leafs, so I took out the over load and 2 other leafs out and it lowerd the back about a inch and added a beltec 6 inch flip kit with notch only in the back and it lowerd over 7 inches, now I have to do something about front because I bought djm 3inch spindles and 2 inch coil, which looks to me like it only lowerd it 3 1/2 4 inches and the coils have been on the truck since march, I might get some summit 3 inch drop coils, because I think there weaker springs
