1972 Big Block motor mount towers

I can not see very well and want to know if it is possible that someone left the big block towers in place when they installed the small block. That is, can you mount a small block on the big block towers. The towers in place appear to be the correct "clam shell" style towers. Before I have to see about pulling the small block just to get the motor mount towers, I want to see if these are correct. I will try to get some pictures as best I can.
