Parts on a 6400 interchange?

I just bought a 54 6400 cab with front clip, and a S10 chassis. 54 is the year I've always wanted, so I hope I can make the parts work. I know I cant use the fenders because they are wider and the wheel opening is bigger. The grill is what I hope to salvage. The headlights are atleast 2" wider than my 3100. That makes me wonder if the grill is too wide for 1/2 ton fenders. Can anyone measure the width of their 54 grill? thanks!
