Carpet, sound deadener install help
I'm ready to install a new carpet kit and a couple rolls of sound deadener in my truck and blazer and I'm not exactly sure what I know what I'm doing.
Does the carpet need to be glued down? The kit I got for my truck is not molded so I thought it would be best to glue it down to the sound deadener to make sure there are no wrinkles and just toss the factory mat out. My blazer kit is molded so I dont think it will need to be glued but I really want to make sure there are no wrinkles etc. Any tips, ideas?

Re: Carpet, sound deadener install help
for no wrinkles, molded carpat is what you need, if you don't have that, glue will be needed to hold the curvatures of the floor. With creative trimming, you can make flat carpet look good, but it will take a while to do.

Re: Carpet, sound deadener install help
If the factory mat is in good condition, you might be able to glue the carpet to it. In case you need to remove it, it would still come out. Either way, use the mat as a template.

x2 on the template idea...
spray adhesive in a can is pretty easy to use once you get to the step of installation for the carpet. prior to that, you can find aluminum tape (carpeting tape) from JCW, autozone, advance, orielly's; for your padding. use it by taping down the outskirts of the padding, and any centerline cuts or modifications with spray adhesive on the underside for a firm hold.
