Post Grease speedo cable?

'87 1 ton- Speedometer is making noise, the faster I go, the faster the noise gets (I'm guessing it's the speedometer). Can it be greased without hurting anything? I was thinking about using that white lithium spray stuff.

Cool

Go ahead and add a small amount. I added some to mine when I installed a new speedo cable. I have not noticed any problems.
