Check online for radiators, think I paid $169 for mine. Then your gonna need the rubber feet(top and bottom) and top brackets. Finish it off with a metal top thingy and a new shroud. I got the metal thingy and shroud from Cheyenne PU parts and thats it! Everything bolts in to factory holes.

I paid around $200 (maybe $211) for a 4-row from NAPA, I believe the computer reads 454, or 350 4-row replacement. Anyway the brand is Modine and is supposed to have a life-time warranty again leaks or defects. I have had it for about a year, maybe 1-1/2 years, cant remember. No plastic on this one. Hope thats helps some. If you need a part number let me know, I still have the receipt out in my truck.
PS: Make me an offer on the shroud (one piece), its like new. I bought it when I swapped engines about 3.5 years ago. It was on the truck for about 6 months, then removed for electric fan. I can email pictures if needed, I think it was about $60 new from GM.

Im thinking of doing the 4 core upgrade too! You said the one from NAPA has no plastic ends?? good Is it for the 454 or just a 4 core replacement?

Yeah no plastic ends.
I had the guy check both 4-row replacement (for 350) and 454 4-row (back when I bough it). He said they were the same part number. Exact cost of radiator was $208.19 Part Number is = 730 Item Number (manufacturer) = MO So it might be something like = MO730 The receipt is kinda wierd, but under part number it just says "730" Description reads = Radiator 350/RI 5.7L 350 not sure what thats all about, but thought you may want to know. Found this online: http://www.napaonline.com/cgi-bin/nc...8&prmenbr=5806

You don't need any lower brackets just uppers. You'll need the four row radiator rubber feet pads(4). I went to my nearest GM dealer and got them. It's easy just tell them you have a Suburban with a 454 and order those part numbers.

I know the price is a little high, but the modine is a good radiator and holds up very well so far.

I agree with G. I got a radiator from Radiators.com. No worries whatsoever. I got mine for $189? 4 row delivered same day. Lifetime warranty!! All metal and brand new.

solidaxel,
They should hold up. I bought one for my Dakota. I was surprised when it arrived. It was a Modine radiator. No problem on my end. Sorry no experience with a radiator for our trucks. I'm going to use an aluminum core. |

When I was looking for a new one for my truck, all the places charged about the same and carried the same brand. I went with Auto Zone, which I really don't like, because they have the most stores.
If the products are otherwise the same, buy it from the place where you are most likely to be a ble to take it back to under the lifetime warranty. Around here, there's an Auto Zone on just about every street corner. Slonaker |
