Re: NAPCO Thread
That's only the second 9 ft Advanced Design panel I've ever seen. Pretty rare. Way cool!

Re: NAPCO Thread
Just picked up some 1/2 ton Napco running gear. Guy took it off of a 1950 carryall that he bought. The axles are off of a task force truck, and there's some grinding on the driver's side spring perch to compensate for the tapered front leaf spring setup on the advance design series. Now I need to find a truck to put these under

Re: NAPCO Thread
Can anyone with an original Napco setup take a few pictures for me? Working on my '56 3600 pickup and without knowing the actual history of the truck it looks like it was converted using older axles- front is a drivers side pumpkin, not passenger. Anyway- I am trying to find the correct u-bolt plates for the front end that go on top of the leaf springs. Whoever did the conversion simply torched out some plate steel squares to use instead. Thanks!

Awesome, thanks. If you wouldn't mind could you get a closer up view of the u-bolt plates? Anyone know if they are carried over from the 2WD axle or were provided with the NAPCO axle?
Also, good to see another driver's side drop pumpkin in a '56. All I've read lead me to believe 55 1/2 and newer were passenger drop axles.

Re: NAPCO Thread
59 $10500. Not sure if this has previously posted
https://portland.craigslist.org/grg/...668953630.html 1959 GMC NAPCO 4x4, This truck is a rare factory napco 4x4 step side, long bed, Big back window, 4 speed, six cylinder, It has a 270 engine, the engine has been rebuilt by StoveBolt engine co. of Sandy, Oregon. the running gear has been gone though and rebuilt as well. the body is in good condition but there is a little rust in the usual locations. This truck could use a new paint job and the upholstery is worn. over all it is a very sound truck and I really hate to part with it as I have had it for over 20 years. The tires are nearly new Dean wild cats with less than 700 miles on them. The truck runs and drives great . I also have a few extra parts to go with it as well. Any questions give me a call at (five four one) eight zero six two seven two six

Re: NAPCO Thread
One of the great things about Chevy and gmc is that the front axle spring perch width stayed the same from 55.2 all the way through the end of the solid axle trucks which makes 4x4 conversions on task force trucks super easy with late model axles. That’s what happened on that truck with the front axle at least

Re: NAPCO Thread
Lockout question- right now my Napco has drive flanges up front and I'd like to find a pair of lockouts for it instead. Besides Warn M-21's were there others available? I am watching a pair of Selectro's on EBay but hesitant since they aren't Warn hubs and want them to be correct.

Ya, not a Napco, but could be useful for somebody with a 60's era K10, or even parts for a K20, as housing and axels are the same, so thanks for posting the link. I think 'junk' might be a bit harsh, as most people would consider just about every part of 'our' era trucks to be junk. I'm assuming you are referring to the unenlightened masses and not one of us, who love our old junk. Sorry if it sounds like I'm trying to stir up s*** because I'm not. I love all the different opinions on this forum, and learn something new every time I log on. Thanks, Tom

Re: NAPCO Thread
That’s no napco axle
That’s a closed knuckle Dana 44 Generally considered the least desirable Dana 44 iteration if not junk by the 4x4 crowd
