FatMan Crossmember Arrived!
Finally got it. I splurged for the stainless steel tubular A arms. Polished Carrera coil overs. The steering rack is ugly though. Black spray bomb paint job (from NAPA). New calipers, rotors, bearings, stainless steel hardware and spindles. Hopefully get it in next week and start working on the LS1 engine mounts. Too bad tax time only comes once a year. I've got a digital camera and a few people where wanting pix of the LS1/T56 set up. Just need to find somewhere/one to host them. The pix are with the stock crossmember.

Allright!! I'm running the stage II setup with the 2" drop spindles. Did you go with the 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern? Yah. I repainted my rack. I think with the setup you have, if you ever wanted to add air ride, you could do it with shockwaves. I had the 6 lug axles in back and just redrilled the axles to match the front bolt pattern. Good luck with the install.

Yes, I went with the 5 on 4 and 3/4. Is your truck running? How does it handle? With the crossmember and drop spindles you gotta be sitting low.

Just a thought on adding air ride later.I have air ride bags in fat man tublar a arms on a 1980 Camaro clip and with all the air out I have 1and1/2 inches of clearance under my front x member.Dropped spindles would put me on the ground, if I lost my air while driving.As it is 1-1/2 inches aint very much, in fact as I sit here it comes to me that I might be below the scrub line, got to check that this aft when I go to the shop. It might be too late now for me to do any thing about it.

Ok went to shop and measured,Ride height is 5-1/2 ",Rim to ground is 4" so with a flat I will have 1-1/2 " clearance,If air bag deflates at the same time as I get a flat, then Im in trouble. However this is not very likely-I hope!

My truck is still a few months away and a few dollars short. I compensated the drop spindles with a set of 20's. Check out the pic. It's still not at ride height yet but when I get all the weight on it I'll trim up the springs and see how it rides and handles. Seems like it might be real stiff. Bagging it is still an option. I can fab some mounts and use the bag aired out as a bump stop.

Using the bag aired out will cause it to get a hole rubbed into it after awhile. Truck looks sweet!! Post a few more pics.

phantom. I was hashing around that very issue. I called air ride technologies and they are the ones who suggested that I use the bag as a bumpstop. Probably have to set it up to see if it looks right or not. Here's an old pic of half the crossmember I found in my archives. I'll try to get another.
