Shop Manual/Assembly Manual Etc.

I've recently become the new owner of a '65 Chevy SWB Fleetside C10 (will get pictures soon). It has a carb'ed 350/Turbo 350 in it. I want to get some manuals for the truck, as this is the first Chevy I'm restoring. I'm thinking of getting the shop manual, owners manual, wiring diagram, and possibly the factory assembly manual. But on the assembly manual, will this all be covered in the shop manual? I ask because I had a shop manual for '67 Mustang that had an assembly guide in it.

Re: Shop Manual/Assembly Manual Etc.

Welcome to the forums from Kansas City, KS.

I recommend getting all of them, because there is alot of information in one that is not in the others. Try eBay...I have seen the entire set for less than $50.00, used, but complete.

Post early and often, especially pictures.

Re: Shop Manual/Assembly Manual Etc.

Wiring diagrams are helpful but come in the assembly manual.
It is good to have both factory assembly and shop manuals.

Good luck on your project and welcome from southern Indiana!

I will be the first to tell you many pictures are needed to keep up with this group, so before anybody else gets the chance to tell you....

Sorry Joe, but you did deputize me!!

Thanks for the quick replies. Here are a few quick pictures.

Fuel cell under the bed

Metal bed welded by PO, i like it, but would of stayed with a wood bed.

Ford seats? PO again.

Rebuilt 350, got to clean up the engine bay

Re: Shop Manual/Assembly Manual Etc.

It's just a square aluminum fuel cell. It mounts on the frame rails. If you want me to get better pictures or any numbers off of it, I can.

from here in Idaho

I have and use both the assembly and shop manuals. You can order the assembly manuals from some of the board vendors and also from
Brothers Trucks, LMC.
Try and support the site thru the vendors link

Thanks for all the welcomes guys. I'll be picking your brains soon as this is my first major project after growing up working mainly on fords.

How exactly does that work? Next pay check I'll be making a fairly large order, so I'll defiantly go do that and support the site, it's already been a huge help and I've had the truck for about a week now.

Haha yea, it threw me off at first. Any one want a clutch pedal?

The floors (in the cab) are solid, just surface rust. What's the best way to cover that? POR-15 or sanding/navel jelly and paint it?

I think I'll like the bed floor better when it's got a spray in bed liner and looks good.

Re: Shop Manual/Assembly Manual Etc.

I bought this shop manual
http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/p...17%26yr%3D1965

Then I did a search for an Assembly Manual that shows you how everything is bolted together.

Re: Shop Manual/Assembly Manual Etc.

Dnot forget 1965 had a supplement manual to go along with the 63 manual. So you would need the 63 and the 65 manuals. I just ordered mine. I dod not how ever get the Assembly manual.
