What's the most rare option out there? Mine has the "prop" mounted E brake. Haven't seen another like it. It's probably rare for a reason......it don't hold worth $h!t.

I've seen some wierd combo's like a '68 CST w/ 396 and 3 in the tree. Was light yellow with red interior. Blah!

The rarest option I would say is one that the Rocker panels never rusted out on. I have never even seen one that never had to have the rockers replaced.

My 71 K20 has factory positraction front end. I've never seen that before. It is listed on the glove box as well.

Come take a look at my 'burb!

My '69 is *almost* that way. I could actually just do a little patch repair and not replace the whole rocker if I felt the need.

How about an 8-track. I've seen them in brochures...

Dean, Jerry Moss has some with posi in the front from the factory. I personally haven't seen any. How 'bout a pic of your glovebox sticker?

The Prop shaft brake is basically a drum brake mounted to the output shaft on the tranny. I've seen hundreds of these trucks in bone yards and have never come across another.

Shoulder belts is a good one too. Never seen them before.

How about a 6 cylinder tach.....Got one of those too!

The drum on the output shaft is very common in 2 1/2 ton plus trucks. Mostly the sub one tons all have axle housings designed with integral parking brakes. Does it list said brake on your option sheet? If not, most likely a bigger truck donated its trans to yours after a failure...

Hmm, Well I doubt that the shoulder belt thing is the rarest option. I have them in my icky '67 they are the color of the interior and everything. They look old. My truck doesn't have any other major options though except maybe the Big Window cab.

Both my rockers are rust free with original paint. I still dont get the "prop" thing ??????

I think the rarest option would be shouder belts for the middle passenger on a bench seat :p

Guys,
The "prop thing" (I think) is refering to a "power drum type brake" on the propeller (drive shaft). Prop brake... I guess..

I have a oppitional block heater and a front axle posi.
Whats the skid plate option look like?? Never saw that.

The prop shaft mounted brake is just like a drum brake that is mounted to the tranny output shaft. The drum turns with the drive shaft and the pad assembly is fixed. It's like -40 with the wind chill right now so I can't get a pic for ya.

And yes it is on the option sheet. There is a couple pages on it in the '68 chassis manual if you have one. Not sure how many years this was offered.

And no it's not the water........all the water is frozen!!

Ah I get the prop option now, you engage it when you want to Porpoise on down the highway :p

And as for the vacuum gauge being the rarest, it is far from it, the vacuum gauge was used in the big trucks for the brake system.
