525 steering box question
GM had their 525 manual steering box from 1965 to 1991. what type of cars were they on? thanks

Chevelles and Camaros had them for sure. Some trucks, like early '80's S10s had them also. The input shaft changed somewhere along the line, from 13/16 down to 3/4. As a general rule Chevy truck steering gears mounted on the outside of the frame, and car gears mounted on the inside, so they won't interchange. Jeep CJ-5's also used a manual steering box identical to the 525. Try to get one with the pitman arm attached. Joe
