BBC Horsepower???
An ideas on how much power this motor makes?
468 BBC 10:1 compression with forged pistons 090 casting ovals that are mildly ported solid roller cam with around 660 lift and a lot of duration stock rods stock crank edelbrock victor junior single plane intake 800cfm holley pertronix distributor It runs like a bat outta hell, just not sure on the actual numbers. Im guessing around 450? Let me know what you think. Thanks

Re: BBC Horsepower???
Im suprised that you guys think it makes more power. haha. I was kinda shootin low though. I think the cam is a little big for the heads, but it sure does sound nasty. Anyone got any cheap ways I can sqeeze a little more power outta her. Thanks.

Re: BBC Horsepower???
I doubt 550. Possibly 500 but im thinking 450+. Those heads are lacking. Ported and all they were never meant to flow well even with a roller cam. If you spent the $600+ on a cam why did you waste the money porting? after market Iron is cheap and will flow a ton more then those ported stocks will. Those heads are good for good low end TQ but not that great for high HP.

Re: BBC Horsepower???
I entered your engine specs in my computer Dyno2000 engine simulation. It should make 500 to 550 hp. If I had more specifics on the cam, I could get a closer figure for you. I assumed stock valves (2.06/1.72) with some pocket porting.

Ray: Welcome to the board from Philadelphia.
Nick: You didn't mention the rear ratio. That's one of the cheapest ways to get grunt. Looks like you gotta change your siggy since you're enjoying your bbc. Nice truck, BTW- -Todd

It's got 4.56 gears, so it leaves in a hurry. Haha. Hope fully I can get some pics and video of it soon.

Re: BBC Horsepower???
After I wrote that I figured with that compression and duration, you'd probably have decent gears.
Always looking forward to vids!
