What's involved in converting to a 700r
I fried my turbo 350 last week. My brother in law has a 2wd 700r sitting in the garage. I am picking up a divorced 205 on next weekend. What is involved in converting to the 700r or should I go with a turbo 400?

Re: What's involved in converting to a 700r
If you want overdrive, go for the 700r4, if you want strength, go for the 400. If you are going divorced t case I am guessing the 700 is a 2wd unit. If you go with it, make sure it is 88 or newer or has been upgraded to the newer internals. also the 700s fron behind 4.3l had fewer clutches, you can add them for the v8 if it was. You will need a floor shifter, if you use the colum shift, you wont be able to select 1st since ther wont be enough positions on your shifter. You will also need a TV cable and its brackets, this is critical, if it is not adjusted correctly, you will burn up the tranny in just a few miles. Other wise you will be golden!

What gears are you running with those 39"s? Do you need over drive?
I just looked at you sig and i am wondering if the 400 might not be a better Idea with the tire size, unless you have at least 4.88s. |

Re: What's involved in converting to a 700r
I will be running 4.88 and I'm going with th400. Early Classics has a shift linkage that will allow me to keep my colum shifter. Thanks for your advise.
