V6 Emblems
Hey yall, im from the 67-72 part of this forum and haven't been in the 60-66 one in a while. I have a set of V6 hood emblems that i pulled off my 64 GMC and was wondering what all years had the 305 V6 and which years also had these emblems. Thanks!

Re: V6 Emblems
The 305 V6 was available throughout the entire generation. You could get it from 60-66, and it would indeed have the emblem.
On a side note, I think GMC used the 305 in light duty pickups through 1968. I may be wrong on that one.

Re: V6 Emblems
I was referring to the emblems themselves, the 305 is unfortunately long gone...

Re: V6 Emblems
Tex,
There were 2 different locations and styles for the emblems. The first series were the round type and those were bolted the the upper front section of the fenders. I've attached a picture to let folks know. The reason for the style change is because beginning in late 1962 model year (after June I believe) the hood designed changed to the flat chevy/GMC clone. The second series were the inverted triangle style and were mounted on the hood. Here is a pictures of the OEM set.

Re: V6 Emblems
OE is the only way to get them. Just like many other GMC specific parts, they just aren't made anymore.
