What do i need to keep in mind?
hey guys, i am planning on building another truck from the ground up. and i dont know if i can get a complete truck to start out with. so if i go hunting at a junkyard what do i have to keep in mind to keep it legal? as in title wise for the cab, numbers on the cab and frame, can i use a different cab on a different frame? im gonna try to find a whole truck, but id like to know all the info i can get just in case i cant, so i can keep this as legal as possiable

Id search craigslist first (if you havent already). Around here you can find a complete truck in the 500-1000 range. Finding one complete with title would save you alot of hassel. It may not run or look good, but hey, its a deal. Since it seems like you dont mind putting in the work, fixing up wouldnt be an issue.

id buy privately.. sometimes when you buy a whole vehicle out of a junkyard you will have title issues that ruin its value and you also need to have inspections that go far beyond regular inspections... Id look for something sitting in a field and start there

Might be time to drive through some alleys or take a cruise out in the country. Knock on some doors and ask that question..."would you sell that to me?"
12 tries later and I owned my first square body!
