Smile Oregon Member's

70 Jimmy: I was in corvallis this weekend( usually every other to see my girl friend and daughter) there was a recdent thread from Oregon members about meeting a Slotsky's, not sure if in Salem, although I noticed a deli by that name in Tualatin, just South of Portland before the I-5/205 merge! Do you know about this? I have a '67 stepside in Seattle and one registered in Portland. Would love to hook up with some Orygun members.......my Oregon truck is licensed as (teo's 67) I could not get theo, I guess somebody already had it, besides I get tired of telling every one what year the truck is! PS: there is a '68 long fleet CST i often see around Corvallis black top and brush painted OSU orange, I assume he is a beaver, if you know him or of him, please tell him to get a decent paint job on that rig thanks for being on the board and communicating! theo goebel

I'm in the Seattle area now, but I'm from Coos Bay/North Bend (NB '87). I went to school in Corvallis. My parents are still in Coos Bay/North Bend. I'm down there a couple times a year - someday I'll take my Blazer so I can tear up the Dunes!

I have a good friend in Corvallis (carpenter) that paints all this rigs ('62-'66 Chevs) with brushes and house paint! He is a champion of the minimalist lifestyle. I always get a kick out of his approach to hot rods and life.

During the summer there is a weekly cruise in at the Schlotzky's deli in Salem on Lancaster Dr. right off the freeway. If my rig is ready this summer, I'll go there quite a bit. If it's not, not so often

I'm 30 min. west of Salem, but grew up in, and frequently visit Portland. I hope I never have to live there again!
I hope to be able to go to Schlotzkis this summer and meet a few more members.

nope, action auto and u pull it aren't worth the damn, all they have is late model cars and trucks anymore. if you are looking for 67-72 chevy parts there is a place down in Phoenix-Talent called Jims Better Buys, he has about 10 of these trucks. some of them have good hoods I think......

I'm in Prineville now, but grew up in Medford. I hope to move back in a couple of years if my job will let me. I do visit there once a month or so though and as far as wrecking yards go Central Point Auto Wreckers has some stuff.

There is the Northwest Truckin Jamboree every summer in July. They moved it back to the truck museum in Brooks near Salem.

If you go to Central Point Auto Wrecking bring your waders. You also might try the junk yard just off I-5 near Wolf Creek, and there is another guy by the name of Jerry something that's at the GP swap meet every year.

Good luck.

Tom, Medford.

Tigard (west Portland), but my truck spends most of its time in Gresham where my parents have a big enough garage to work on it in relative comfort. I'm short on free time right now so I've got tons of parts for the truck, but they're all in the bed not on it.

Hopefully I'll see some people at the cruise-ins this summer in Portland. I might be in my 75 Olds instead of the truck depending on how much work I get done on it.

Right now I wouldn't trust my truck to make it down I-5 safely. I had a bad experience with someone pulling out in front of me. All of the wheels wanted to lock if I put more than a slight pressure on the pedal. I ended up sliding it to a stop almost sideways. I've decided that discs all around are in order for this rig before I go cruising too much with it.

NW guys

I am in Eugene/Springfield area. Sounds like we need to ron-de-vue in Salem at the deli this summer.

Bouncytruck; I was ahead of you a couple of years. NBHS 82. I always hate explaining where North Bend is too. I hope they don't rename the town Coos Bay- North Bend like they want.

Please check out my post of good project for sale.
