Re: my rims
I really like the 4x4 rallys with the rim painted gloss black and crome beauty rims and chrome center caps plus with some massive bogger tires they look really mean and the other style is another I like.

Re: my rims
I think I would just keep the ones you have. Clean them up with some acid and buy some new skins.

Re: my rims
Keep those, clean them with muriatic acid then paint the entire wheel black but go over the "ribs" with a rag soaked in lacquer thinner to remove the black from them. That way they stand out but you still have the black you want.

Re: my rims
I will assume that since you are using rattle cans for your paint job that you have "limited" funds. With that thought I would keep the wheels you have. As mentioned, cleaning them up would help their appearance quite a bit. If you really must add color, consider using contrasting, but flat or satin finish.
To go along with the satin theme, I would consider using red oxide primer. You could paint your bumpers and wheels the same color. Just clean them thoroughly before you paint them.

I like chrome. Reminds of the cast aluminum stock wheels from the 80's and of the 17" steelies that come on some of the newer trucks.
