Quick question about compressor mounting. Eventually my compressor(s) and tank will be in the bed. For now, is it OK to mount a Viair 380C in most any position? Upside down etc. ?

i dont think they suggest mounting it upside down but its ok if you mount it under the truck just make a bracket and you should be fine.

Yes, the front is getting bagged this week. I'll get the rear done in a couple months, just not sure which way i want to go yet. I'm not looking to "lay frame", been wanting to bag something so here goes. LOL.

I suggest you mount that noisy SOB as far away from the cab as possible.

This is what my buddy was told by Viair when he sent his compressors back on warranty. "Any position is fine, upright, sideways, upside down, but don't mount the compressor lower than the air tank. Mounting the compressor lower than the tank allows water to drain back into the pump, the water will cause the cylinder to corrode & shorten the life of the compressor." Sounds possible to me when I think about it. I will be mounting my compressors lower than my tanks, but I will be running water traps off my leader hoses lower than my pumps, then run line up to my tanks.

LOL, I hear ya, barely. For now I’m going to use those big fat step side fenders to hide my compressors. I'm going to build a rain shield for them. As I posted earlier, the tank (34” X 7”, 5 gallon), and compressors will eventually move to the bed.

I see you’re using a “bag over spring” setup. You like it? That’s what I’m leaning towards on mine. If the axle will rest against the bottom of the C-notch (parked) I’ll be happy.

what are you guys using to bag the front are you making the brackets yourself or buying them already made. I want to bag my truck too because im not happy with my ride height. What are you guys using for cnotches?

I am very pleased with my AOL (air over leaf) system. I am pleased because it meet my very specific requirements. I wanted to go as low as possible, but would not cut the bed. I wanted a simple system that could be returned to stock if someone ever wanted to.

With the exception of a weld in C-notch I got all of my demands met with the AOL system....

On my 77 we used ART bag plates and cups with DJM 3" spindles. SOS custom built bump stops all me to still "roll" when aired out.

In the rear I have an SOS built C-notch that is welded in.

I'm using a bolt in McGauleys (spelling?) C-Notch that I welded in. My bag brackets came from here....................

what about the rear mounts is ART the only company that makes those air over leaf brackets?
