Heart Breaker Run @ Rausch Creek 2/28/09

Big group ranging from 1st timers on up, nothing to hardcore.

Fair amount of breakage, which I was included in but only found out doing a walk-around in the hotel parking lot Sunday morning as we were getting ready to head off to the park.

A few vids, have more but need to load em up.
The pic is my drivers side front frame rail.

HoSh***T
hahaha don't think I have ever seen that type of carange ~ WTF?
I have yet to relocate my shocks up front,on the list, I have the Ford towers too. SO, now that you have found a weak spot don't foreget to share how you fix it! That way I can modify my install to prevent said carnage
Good Times!

Yeah, right...

I plan on some sort of hoop made out of DOM for the fix.

The other 'event' I had coming home was getting a slug of watered down diesel at the 100 mile mark, had to limp it home but made it.

Just pulled off the fuel filter and whoa!
The thing is jamb packed with ice!!

Looks like your bracket needed more triangulation.

You've got a knack for the obvious...

It was triangulated against the frame but as the evidence shows, it wasn't enough.

Hind sight shows it to be a poor design to begin with.

Re: Heart Breaker Run @ Rausch Creek 2/28/09

Ya, most Ford tower installs have cut the tower's lower section off, only using the top 2/3s of the tower. Stands the shock upright and now i know, less leverage for the tower to be ripped off the frame! hahahaha
I will defn. be adding gussets to mine.
