Steering column differences
I'm trying to work out what changes there were to tilt auto columns thru the years, and what years are the same. Here's what I think I know... please add what you know, or correct me if I'm wrong.
73-76 Same. Wiper switch on dash, dimmer on floor. 77-83 Same, when equipped with the 3 spd. auto. Wiper/ dimmer same as above. 82-83 with a 700r4 has the "additional shifter travel" for the added gear position. Wiper/ dimmer same as above. 84-87 Changed to wiper & dimmer on the turn signal lever. Other than the turn signal switch changing part # from 76 to 77, I don't see what the difference would be. Different electrical connector?

Re: Steering column differences
There are two changes that I am aware of. There was a change in connectors, and in the intermediate shaft. Both can be fixed by swapping old to new as far as I know.
