Bakersfield car show
I asked my son what category he wanted to enter his truck in (orig, cust, ratrod) He chose ratrod, so we did. After getting in I noticed that one whole side of the field was old rats (most were cars). I thought there's no way in hell he'll win anything. Well he ended up taking third. I took someones advice here about putting his name down as the owner. When they called his name, and he ran up on stage the crowd went nuts. Well here's some pics of the event.
Here he is with his mamma. I have no idea what he was spitting out here. But it impressed this old Marine. Here's my boy and I. here he is helping out an old timer.

If you took 3rd, the 1st and 2nd must have been killer rods.

Re: Bakersfield car show
Congrats. The truck is looking really nice. Almost time for a new project.
A lot of folks don't realize how many car related events there are in Bakersfield, one of things I miss.

Re: Bakersfield car show
Hey guy's thanks. I wish I had taken more pic's but I wasn't feeling all that great for most of the day. I was popping morphine & vicodin every few hours just to somewhat function there. But it turned out to be a pretty good outing with the family. It was a cruisin for a wish show. The show was sponsoring 5 terminally ill kids, so it was a very good cause. Sick or not I knew I had to stick it out. They had a nice raffle going with k&n items, flowmaster, tires, a whole bunch of truck goodies and other things. We were buying tickets all day the wife and kid were going for tires and hair products. I'm ashamed to say it, but I was going for this huge cheesy water fountain for my mom. I ended up winning it. That sob didn't look so heavy up on stage. I almost threw my back out trying to get it in my truck. Guess I'll go for some tires next time.

Re: Bakersfield car show
That is so cool that your son is so much into your truck and hanging out with you at the show. Your making memories that will last forever.
