1961 GMC rear axel
I have a 62 GMC with a 10 bolt rear axel. The brake drums are 6 hole. I am having trouble getting drums to fit it. The drums listed at the parts houses in my area are not deep enough. When installed there is 3/4" of brake shoe exposed.I think that the rear axel has been replaced at some time, but I am having trouble identifying the axel also.I went to the local GMC dealer to try and identify the axel and they told me to look for a number on the right axeltube. Looking from the back of the truck I found numbers stamped on the back of the left tube. The dealer could not identify the axel. The numbers are 525 1B2375. I am hoping somebody can help me with this.
