Re: 61 235 paint color

I am NO expert on originality, OK???? From what Ive seen on here, its probably a lite blue-green...almost seafoam color. I have also seen grey on the older V8's. Thats probably what you are going to be looking to paint it. Good luck.

Re: 61 235 paint color

My vote is blue

Was it still a 235 in that year or a 230?

Re: 61 235 paint color

Here is a link to a list....but knowing that my 66 is a 250 and no 250 is shown, I'm not sure of the extent of the accuracy.

Re: 61 235 paint color

There is no exact engine color made for the Chevy 6, but the duplicolor DE1609 (engine paint)seems to be the closest match. The 235,230 and 250 were all painted the same color blue from 60-66.Here is an original paint 230-250 cover.

Re: 61 235 paint color

Jim Carter www.oldchevytrucks.com carries the correct color paint.

Disagree on the 66 250. It is more like the alpine green used on the 292.
Factorystock, I have seen one of your photos that shows that particular green somewhere, but can't remember wherre.
