power brakes
i want to keep my power brakes but i got rid of my big booster because it hung too far over my valve cover and i didnt like that. so if anyone could help and let me know if any booster like off of a small car would work? i just want somthing that keeps it close to the firewall.

Re: power brakes
I got rid of my power brake booster and went manual. I also converted my front drums to disc. Stops better with manual disc. vs. power drums. I like the firm feel of the manual brakes myself.

Re: power brakes
I bought the CPP billet master cylinder ,it has a built in Prop valve, looks nice and comes in 1 inch and 1 1/8 bore, works great with manual brakes, and looks cool too

Re: power brakes
I like my manual discs too.
I think you just need to remove the power booster, and get a different push rod?? Maybe hydroboost if you want to keep it power, and loose the booster? |

Re: power brakes
How is the stopping power with a Truck an Manual Brakes? i was thinking of switching from power but didnt think i could stop it fast enough or something because of the weight(also heard a Auto trans will creep forward if your foot slips off the brake at all when stopped...not sure if its true but?)

Re: power brakes
if you change your pedal ratio and mc size it should stop fine and not require tons of force either.

Re: power brakes
Stopping power is fine just has a harder pedal to push.

Re: power brakes
Yes.....I just drove my truck around the block today. It doesnt creep, it jumps a couple inches when I put it in gear. I do have my idle up a little. It does not creep after driving and coming to a stop...unless I let up my pressure on the pedal, or my seat bolts break.........
