New Windshield!...

SO i got a new windshield installed today. Sadly enough last Saturday a foot and a half long crack showed up right in the center of the windshield. Along with all the other chips and such, it was only a matter of time anyway, so a new one was dropped in. I payed $187 installed, that a good price? And finally, a shaded band that isnt all faded away, lol......have a good week guys...

Re: New Windshield!...

Brad,

That sounds like a good price, I'm having one installed in my 97 GMC today @ $159 plus a $25 travel fee. Mine is too bad to drive to them so they have to travel two hours round trip to install it.

Re: New Windshield!...

Brad, it is luck of the draw. I needed a new windshield a couple of years ago. Prices were crazy, to say the least. I found a local glass shop that buys windshields for our trucks in large quantities - 100 at a time. All of them had the green upper tint and built-in antenna. Windshield was $100 & $45 for installation. I provided the new rubber as I was swapping out the original that was in rough shape. Next cheapest quote I got was $300 installed, so I'd say you did pretty good and got your money's worth.

Re: New Windshield!...

thats not a bad price seeing how the glass cost is about $100 but a little food for thought the windshields in our trucks arnt that hard to install I'm not a glass guy or a body guy but I can pull one and replace it in about 45 min. and thats with a little screwing around.

Re: New Windshield!...

Sounds like a decent price. I buy new windshields from a local place for about $75. That is shaded with the antenna.

Re: New Windshield!...

Sounds like a fair deal. New glass is always nice to have. Out here they tend to get sandblasted after a year or two so a new one is almost like working miracles for visability.
