WTB 230 engine, was running, rebuildable, TX Panhandle
Looking for a 230 that I can rebuild and swap into my 64 C-10. I am in the TX panhandle along I-40. I go to OKC from time to time.
Eugene

Thanks for replying.
I am hoping to find an engine close to me. If not, then I will drive or have shipped. Eugene

Re: WTB 230 engine, was running, rebuildable, TX Panhandle
I've got a running 6cyl/3spd combo from a 64. I could check to see if it's a 230 or 250. Would a 250 work as well?
The motor is not stock to the truck as far as I know (has HEI too). It starts & does smoke a little, but doesn't have any death knocks. The trans seems decent too. My only exposure has been on/off a trailer & in/out of the garage so accurately assessing its absolute condition is difficult. LMK.....

Sorry for several days to reply. I think either would work. I need a cheap engine that I could rebuild then swap in a weekend. Is it complete?

Yep. I drove it on/off a trailer w/o water hoses connected but it ran for only a few mins. You could hear it run if desired (still in the truck) & would get everything associated w/the drivetrain (motor, exhaust, trans). The truck is getting a V8/auto swap.
