Re: headers
I think the tubes drop down and would interfere with the cross member or motor mount saddle. It has nothing to do with ride hite. Most headers that work or are designed for trucks shoot the tubes back pretty far and then drop down. I didnt read any specs for them on your link, but if they are designed for even 73+ they mite work. If they are a general hot rod header I think there would be issues.
You ought to be able to get a header designed for your truck for substantially less $$, I would guess.

Re: headers
Its not a bad price for a quality built and quality coated header if they are indeed quality built. However, if the image is of the actual headers, there will be significant firewall clearance issues, Those couple of tubes swoop waaay back. I could be wrong, but thats my observation.
Hooker makes an 1 3/4" header for our trucks, I believe. Last edited by FreeRideYZ250; 03-06-2009 at 12:48 AM. |

Re: headers
A lot of what will determine whether or not if a given header will work for you is whether you have a manual trans or an auto. Reason being the clutch bellcrank position. Hedman makes headers specifically for the '63-'66's (actually I think they fit back to '55) which are part #60260 or the elite ones 69268. These will work with a manual trans, no question. But they are 1 1/2" primaries. I myself prefer to use the later model headers like the #69090's or the elite's #69890. They also make a 1 3/4 primary header #69080. However the later model headers may require modification to the bellcrank.
A whilr back another member found that a particular Hooker header which is for later model trucks will work with a manual trans. Do a search for posts by 64magoo.
