wing window on an AD

Is it possible change out the hardware where the spring and the bolt attach to the window? On my drivers side the "bolt" or attaching point for the window on the bottom broke. How do I fix it? Thanks guys!

Re: wing window on an AD

You can access this hardware by taking the door panel off. There is an access opening in the door so the vent pivot can be adjusted.

The bad news is that if the pivot post broke away from the vent frame you may have to find a replacement. Rewelding the post to the frame is a possibility but it is not a permanent solution and will break again.

Save that hardware (nut, washers, spring) as not all of it is reproduced. The vent windows are available through the various parts suppliers.

One good thing about this repair is you can do it without taking the entire vent frame/window channel out of the door.

I think that assembly is riveted to the window frame. I have a couple extra frames I don't need. If the stud is good on either, it's your's-just pay shipping.
