Another Newbie!!!
Hey all,
I'm new here, but not new to the square body GM's. This is my second one, and I have had it about 1 1/2 years. My previous '86 I had for about 10, but I wanted a FI '87 shortbed so I found this one. The truck is super clean, just needs a little love and some customizing to personalize it. It is an ongoing project, but I don't plan on much more than just a slight suspension drop (3.5/5) and some 18" w&tires. I have rebuilt the A/C system, fixed most of the little interior rattles/issues. New dash pad, new window rubber (in progress), fixed the power windows (new motors), a billet steering wheel. The rearend is howling like a banshee so I came up with a '96 8.5 30 spline rearend w/ an Eaton Locker and 3.42's in it (I put the Eaton in it). I have cut the stock spring perches and shock brackets off and put new ones on it to fit the stock widths. It fits right up under there, and with the bigger drum brakes it even has a better pedal feel. I am now in the process of putting on a 1" spring and a set of drop spindles (HD) so I can upgrade the front brakes as well. I want to be able to stop better while towing my boat. I am doing a 5" flip in the rear so it shouldn't be so low that I can't drive it daily if needed. Anyway, I'll be around and post some pics as I progress. E |

Yeah, I'm waiting on a vent window frame , then I can get started on re-rubberin' the doors. Best I can tell, that is gonna suck!

Re: Another Newbie!!!
Nope, but I really expect it to come tomorrow because I have to work the next 3 days...I was off today, so I could have gotten started on it. The way of my life!
