I Need Help

I just picked up a 83 short bed. Everything is shaved. My problem is the doors I have are from another year but have no idea what year or if they are for a truck or burben. From the top of the door to the edge of the cab there is a gap about 1.5"
Can anyone help?

Let me know

Re: I Need Help

The doors are the same on the burbans, blazers, and trucks. There were some differences between the early square bodies, and the later ones. Are the doors the ones that are on the truck now, or another set you have? If I remember correctly you can put the different doors on, but I don't think it would have that big of a gap. I could be wrong though. I'm not that familiar with them. Someone else may have more knowledge on them. Do you have any pics of the gap you are talking about?

If you are getting new ones then I guess I don't understand the question. Do you think maybe the cab is tweaked or something, or are you just wanting to make sure it's a door problem before you buy new doors? Does the driver's door still have the info sticker on it?

They have the shave kit and all the body work is already done but cant sell without knowing the year.

Re: I Need Help

Just put them up as a 73-87 door. Like I said they should work for all years. I think the difference is at the wing window.

Re: I Need Help

The difference is on the inside of the shell. The 73-76 doors used a lot smaller door trim panel. The later (77-91) doors were redesigned to accept power windows, and will require a larger door panel. If your gap is that big, it may possibly be an aftermarket door, or the door is tweaked.
