Re: my next truck

I'd have been bugging him too, that's a great looking rig. And a 4 speed, it just doesn't get much better. That's also my favorite hood.

I was able to get it for 900.00. When I had first asked him about two years ago he said he wouldn't sell it for less then 3500.00 . He is a cool guy but has little mechanical skills.
It needs work, and he lost interest in it, and wanted a rice burner, so he parked it.
I started working at my old job a month ago and asked him again if he would sell it to me and he said give me 1500. I jokingly asked him if he would take payments and he said he would let me know. Next day he said I could have it for 1000.00 if I could come up with two 500.00 payments.
Gave him 500.00 and said if I could come up with 400.00 my the end of the month it would be a done deal
"I seen what you did with your 60 " he tells me "and I know you will do this one right too"
So even though money is a bit tight I couldn't pass this one up, plus the wife liked it too, I hope "el Cheepo" dosnt get jealous.

Re: my next truck

Not sur yet man....when the time comes, mabey we can get a better deal if we change two at the same time....

When that time does come, I will remove it myself, and check for rust, and repair if neccessary.

Re: my next truck

so the truck is mine! I have been working on it at lunch (the guys at work call it "the lunch truck") doing small things
I removed the rear bumper, add some temp rear lights, replaced the water outlet, replaced the turn signal switch , but it seems that the turn signal cam were the cable goes is toast.
I added some gauges, replaced the speedo cable and dimmer switch.I removed a bunch of wires that were added by the po,I still need to get the dome light , high beams and gas gauge to work.
I plan on adding some tear drop tail lights rear chrome bumper ,drop the front, and add some bullet wheel caps.
I found out the motor came out of a camaro, fires right up but it is a 305,and dirty. It has a Holley spread bore, but it runs a bit rich, so I will swap out an eddelbrock that I have.
The 4 speed shifts fine dosn't pop out of gear but it is a bit noisey, I'm thinking it is a bit low on gear oil.
I had to put in a new battery, the old one had drained from sitting, and would not hold a charge, it would drain in a week even when disconected. the alternator shows to be charging 14 volts on the volt meter.
I will post some pics soon
