Power window / - locks question ....
Hi,
I have a weird problem regarding my power windows and power door locks... I nearly finished my truck (1984 silverado) now - just preparing it for the inspection. The problem: When I apply the power WINDOW switch at the drivers door my door locks go up or down (left switch = left lock - right switch = right lock...) when I apply the DOOR lock switch just nothin happens ??! I disassembled the driverside door again and found out the plugs are placed correctly on window motor and door lock - you can`t interchange them because of the length of the wires (the wire for the window motor won`t reach to the door lock.) The plugs right underneath the dash left and right are all okay...?! SO - what do you think what did I wrong ????? I´m really confused ANY HELP appreciated !!! Has anybody a wiring diagram for 81 - 87 c10 POWER WINDOWS and POWER DOOR LOCKS ??? I used the search button but had not much success....sorry. Thank you, Rob

Re: Power window / - locks question ....
Well - I have a Chilton manual - but it includes the ordinary chassis wiring only - that thing wouldn`t be a good help...

the windows are pretty slow - but we had this discussion here earlier... Just one thing: I am not able to lock the doors from the passenger side doorlock switch...?! Maybe a defective switch ? What do you think ? Are those switches exchangeable (Pass.side / drivers side) ? Maybe next time I`ll will try the one of the DS....

Re: Power window / - locks question ....
To late to reply, but yeah it was feeding ground through the circuit.
If the P side locks from the D side it's got to be the switch.

Re: Power window / - locks question ....
The window is slow for 2 reasons one the motor might be the factory one and its about toast,Or you need to lube the window track and linkage.Yeah n2trux is right if your driver switch works both doors then its just the switch on the passenger side.
